Yesterday we attended the Roots 'n' Boots festival and it has been amazing. The excitement was a living presence even outside the festival area, with boots and cow-boy hats and laughs. But as soon as you crossed the entrance the positive vibes were really flowing freely in the air. The atmosphere was relaxed yet really focused on what was happening on stage, with a neverending succession of seriously great rock-country bands, raw and funny, energetic and lyrical. We already knew a couple of them : Honkatonk, who gave us their promo cd and Jari Rattya who had an interview with us a few weeks ago and gave us his last musical effort, both of them in our playlist now. It was so good to finally see them live, amazing guys ! All the others were fantastic new experiences for us and with a few of them we already took contact for future interviews ( so stay tuned RQL friends ). The day eneded with Stacie Collins. Well, how to find words to describe her ... a rock-country storm seasoned with a killing harmonica and an energy level from out of this world. The crowd went crazy with her and everybody started dancing and taking the music alive: the epitome of a succefull festival.
As local radio we have to say that it has been a great experience to have the chance to collaborate with Roots 'n' Boots and we really hope this will be just the first of many more festival in which we hope to be more and more involved. A real big THANK YOU to Nina Haggblom and Harri Koste for their hard work, kindness and reliability: two tireless professionals with a huge love for music.
See you next year in Roots 'n' Boots !!!!!
