Blind Channel Band gig. Reportage.

Immagine
Last saturday, two members of RQL staff went to the concert of the great Blind Channel band in Bar Loose in Helsinki. It has been an amazing evening with the band really at its top. The set-list started with 'My revolution', one of their most energetic song and it went on with tunes like 'Unforgiven', ' Bullet (with your name on it) 'and many more. During the show we have been also treated with a real gem, the violent-pop version of Ed Sheeran's 'Don't'. Blind Channel ( as we already stated a few times here or here ) are really a great band, with good music and an obvious love for what they do. After the show we even had the chance to meet the band and talk with them: kind, down on earth young men who are committed with their music and fans. Not even to say, since last saturday I keep finding myself singing one of their tunes, so if you have the chance I strongly advise you to go and see them live, they are sure worth it ! Here some pictu...

Hi Dear listeners and readers !! This web site has been quiet for too long, so here we are with the review and a short interview about the amazing Blind Channel band (who we have interviewed some months ago here the link ) debut album which was realised a bit over a month ago. We had the chance to see the Blind Channel band back in the end of May when they were opening for the canadian band Simple Plan in Helsinki. Since that It has been quite hard to stop listening to their music. Their performances are an incredible thing, we were eagerly waiting for their debut album, and it's finally out. Listening to "Revolutions" it is like walking in the forest , in the dark, your heart beating fast while you are running for the light. "Revolutions" it's a violent pop with some sparks of rap and electro full lenght album, every song it's lyirical but obsessive, deep and energetic, the pounding rythm is the perfect soudtrack for your personal revo...

When I got involved with reggae music at the beginning there were only records. When I started to build up the sound system and building my own speaker boxes, all the inspiration was coming from where reggae was actually born: the jamaican sound systems. Jamaican sound systems in the seventies were like the people's radio. It was the place where you could hear the reggae music that you couldn't hear anywhere else. It was not played on the radio at that time even if it ...

Saltbodan Radio 2016

Immagine
Hi family and friends ! How was your weekend ? Ours was incredible, new and old friends visiting, new connections, new projects, life flows at full speed here at RQL. But surely one of the highlight of our fantastic weekend was the Saltbodan Radio, here at Laivasilta in Loviisa town. We broadcasted it live and sure enough it was great. We were all there, including our youngest helper James. The heavy rain of the day forced to move the event indoor, but it didn't change at all the usual good vibes and music. As always several DJs played different kind of music, from funky to hip-hop, but of course for us it was especially exciting the performance of the special guest JahVice, with whom we had a really interesting interview a few hours before ( the interview will be broadcasted next sunday, more details in the following days ). As always the last Saltbodan of the year it's bittersweet moment, since vibes are at their highest, but you know that it means the summer is coming to an ...

Loviisan Rauhan-Foorumi 2016

Immagine
If we could have shared with the whole world the feeling that permeated our small town during the three days of Loviisa Peace Forum, the world could have lived, at least for three days, the dream or the hope of peace on earth. During the Peace Forum the boudaries of language, nationality, belief, were torn apart, replaced by love, understanding, friendship and a dash of curiosity for each other's background. As local radio we feel so blessed to have had the chance to follow step by step the events, working alongside the organizers, wonderful people whose tireless work brought in our town three days filled with events but mostly with love. The forum started on friday evening with the opening ceremony in Almintalo, saturday was a heartwarming, events-filled day, with the market of possibilities, music and dance in Laivasilta and the moving and impressing candle procession.  But pictures will tell you the story of the Loviisa Peace Forum 2016 better than I could ever do. ...

Julian Marley interview !!!!

Immagine
Hello lovely friends ! How are you ? We're really busy these days, happily busy I'd say with so many great events we've been involved in and in the next days you'll see all the evidences on this web-site, but now, today, we're here to give you another gem from our adventure in Sweden: the interview with Julian Marley ! After the show Gaia and I have been reached by the two super kind and professional tour menagers Isabelle Messer and Marco Palian. Both of them were very caring with us and took us under their wings, guiding us in the back stage. At that point we were really worned out by three days of traveling and the whole day spent hanging around the venue, and we were also quite worried about the rest of our family waiting outside for hours ( Sweden has strange age limits for concerts ... ). So we just sat on the stairs with all our gear on our lap looking quite patetic probably. At that point the band arrived. Owen Dreadie Reid, the bass player, stopped in fron...
