Loviisan Rauhan-Foorumi 2016

Immagine
If we could have shared with the whole world the feeling that permeated our small town during the three days of Loviisa Peace Forum, the world could have lived, at least for three days, the dream or the hope of peace on earth. During the Peace Forum the boudaries of language, nationality, belief, were torn apart, replaced by love, understanding, friendship and a dash of curiosity for each other's background. As local radio we feel so blessed to have had the chance to follow step by step the events, working alongside the organizers, wonderful people whose tireless work brought in our town three days filled with events but mostly with love. The forum started on friday evening with the opening ceremony in Almintalo, saturday was a heartwarming, events-filled day, with the market of possibilities, music and dance in Laivasilta and the moving and impressing candle procession.  But pictures will tell you the story of the Loviisa Peace Forum 2016 better than I could ever do. ...

Julian Marley and The Uprising Band - Stockholm show

Immagine
Sometimes dreams do come true. A few weeks ago our small, indipendent yet stubborn and enthusiast radio station was dreaming to have a written interview with Julian Marley for our web-site. So I contacted Julian Marley publicist, with very little hope in my heart for a positive outcome, considering what a huge name he is in the reggae and music world. At my surprise just the following day I had the kindest answer from the lovely and super professional Diane Podlock. She asked me for more details about how we usually showcase interviews and artists and finally she not only agreed on sending him my questions, but she also sent us a few songs for our playlist. Time went by and Julian was touring Europe in a tireless schedule that left him with very limited time for answering a written interview. That's when we thought that maybe we could just go to see his Stockholm show to write an article. So I wrote again to Diane and she immediately told me that we would have been their guests  to...

Elin Kåven Interview

Immagine
Hello RQL friends ! Today we have an interview with a very special artist quite dear to me : Elin Kåven or the arctic fairy . I'm especially excited for this interview for so many reasons. Before moving to Finland for good, as a family we made a wonderful trip visiting the 'great north', all the way up to the arctic circle and than more north until we arrived in North Cape in Norway. That was the first time I got to know the Sami people and culture and for me it has been love at first sight. I felt like I've been stolen something as a human being for not been told or taught anything about this ancient and rich culture and wonderful people in Europe. How is that possible. So since then I tried to learn more and more about Sami, and let me tell you it's not an easy task in english language. But long story short, during my 5 years long quest for learning more I bumped into Elin music and finally now, with this web-site of ours, time were ripe to connect with her for...

Nate Maingard interview

Hello RQL friends ! How are you ? We're quite busy finding new lovely talented and interesting artists to fill up our playlist and web-pages, great artists to entertain and inspire you. So today our guest is Nate Maingard, he belongs to the collective of the Lyrical Nomads ( we already introduced you with Roaman and Ny Oh ).  So let's get to know him better !  -Hello Nate, would you like to introduce yourself to our listeners\readers ? Sure, I’m a modern troubadour. Inspiring others to live more purposeful and open-hearted lives, through the art of storytelling and song. -You call yourself a moder troubadour, a story teller. Which is the difference (as you feel it) between a storyteller and a 'singer' ? Anyone who has the voice/training for it can sing. They can sing about ice-cream, they can sing about love, they can sing about whatever they want, and that’s totally ok. To be a true storyteller is to have the capacity to take people on a journey through ...
