Shiraz Lane live @ Pato Klubi, Kouvola.

Immagine
  - I have an ocean of memories  reminding me what I used to feel. Can't help but wonder how everything could have been-  On Saturday we got the chance to see again the wonderful Shiraz Lane. We had already seen them performing in Tuska Open Air during the summer, and it was LOVE.  After the RQLSummerTour ended I had only one thing in mind : do my best to see them performing again ; and then, here there is, a gig in Kouvola very close to here, and in a super cool location so why not going ?! The location is Pato Klubi, which is situated into what looks like an old factory renovated as a event venue and art gallery. One more word about the venue : the crew working there was super nice and really made us feel welcome.  It's about  8p.m., here are the guys coming from a door at the back of the room, some girls start whispering to their friends "here they are", "look !" , and..... here they are ready to make the people dance and sing for ...

Rototom Sunsplash 2018 - Day 5-

Immagine
In its 25th years of activity, one of the main feature of Rototom has been spreading love.  Love trough music, love in welcoming any kind of guests from older to younger, with all kind of different abilities. Love thrugh respecting nature. This year Rototom decided to show love throwing an helping hand to Proactive Open Arms. So far in 2018 more than 1500 people lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea, many of which were children, many of which were parents. The NGO working between Lybia and Italy have it worse, being both countries committed in the inhuman behaviors of blocking NGO boats, closing their harbors and denouncing NGO volunteer workers.  Rototom people gathered in the social forum to listen to Leticia Cabo Lozano, Manuel Blanco, Ivan Prado, Miquel Ramos and their brave and heartbreaking stories, to say NO to all this, to show that this year motto "walking together" is real and it means that we are marching together along with our most unfortunate broth...

OverJam 2018: the last day chronicles

Immagine
And also the 7th edition of OverJam reggae festival had come to an end. For RQL it was our first experience in OverJam and in Slovenia ; and we left a piece of our heart there. The only word we can think of, when we want to describe OverJam is "Amazing" ; the organization was excellent. From the secutiry to the info point, all we found was kindness and expertise. The artists were the real top notch of reggae scene. The last day was blessed by a gorgeous wheather, the river has quickly become the place to stay to chill in every sense. Workshop, children's area, music and a wonderful and powerful university with Italee ; and Israel Voice (which we later saw) about the role of women in contemporary reggae music. The last overjam night was amazing, the main stage displayed Shanti Powa followed by Brain Holidays(band from Croatia which we had the chance to interview soon before their show... So stay tuned ;) and Italee (a strong woman, with great energy and an amazing a...

Rototom Sunsplash for Aquarius

Immagine
Yesterday evening we got a reason more to love and support Rototom Sunsplash. Which is not only an amazing music festival, but it's a festival managed from people with a big heart and good principals. We all heard in the last days about the Aquarius-boat and the unfortunate fate of the 629 migrants on board who have been denied access to Italian harbours. Here Rototom's answer: " Rototom Sunsplash, which is promoting values and messages of peace, love, tolerance, integration and respect since the beginning of its existence, wants to show full solidarity to the 629 people who were saved on the Aquarius - boat of the NGO SOS Mediterranée and Doctors Without Borders - who will get to the port of Valencia in the following hours after being refused by Italian government on their country.     Moreover, Rototom Sunsplash wants to offer, through its NGO Exodus, help to all institutions, social organisations and entities involved in helping thes...

Rock Fest day 3 : Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Amorphis & more

Immagine
The third day of the festival opens its gates at 14:00. The crowd is getting bigger and bigger, this going to be an awsome day packed full with living legends of rock scene. While on the Perkele Stage and Kivi stage were taking turns names such as The Holy, Mokoma, Maj Karma and many more, on the Radio Rock Stage the impressive scenographies already waiting were whispering of a dream-like line-up for every die-hard rock fan.¨ Photo Credit : Rockfest 2018, Julius Konttinen The Adept from sweden had the hard task to welcome the audience and they proved themselves fit for it. Once their performance is over the stage starts its endless transformations. An almost psychedelic scenography introduce us to Amorphis. At 18:00 the finnish death metal band shakes the Rock Fest plain to the core. They are dark, loud, their music hit you in the stomach, litterally. The guys sure have a drum 'n' bass to kill. When the Amorphis are over, Reckless Love on the Kivi stage and Phil...

The adrenaline level in the audience is critical Ikina set the public on fire and now everybody needs fuel to burn.  On stage everybody is feverishly working. The darkness. A movement. And from the hardcore fans rises a piecing scream. Boys are on stage.  Dressed all white, they  start pouring their powerful, honest and straight forward lyrics over a delirious audience.  Here’s the fuel everybody was thirsty of, and the venue starts burning. Yesterday we finally had the chance to meet again the Blind Channel band before their headline gig in Tavastia’s stage (Helsinki). Even if tired and excited for the upcoming performance Niko and Joel have kindly answered all our question, talking with us about music, plans for the future growing up and working hard. As a radio station we have seen Blind Channel a few times, either as opening act for other bands and as a headliners (like yesterday evening). Their music have been broadcasted since we discovered...
